Just to get it right.
Your opinion is that a single W6000 will do the trick for 400x400 mm.

A single projector would not be able to cover a distance of 40 x 40 cm. It would be too far and would have some pixelation. You would need 2 projectors to cover this area for sure.

There is another idea i have been developing in my head for a basically unlimited region with a single projector. It involves actually moving the projector in several positions of the same layer along with the image to cover it. But this method is not cheap and would need an additional X & Y assembly for the projector to move and a different mechanism for detaching the layers from the VAT. I could definitely build this but don't have the budget to try it out.

This would also use a single projector and would not even have to be top of the line one. Also this method would use a Rasberry Pi to do all the work so no PC would be needed. But again. can't build this yet and can't afford to try this out.

It is an option, with many advantages, and you can make a mutch larger VAT that way ( limitless )

At first glance, a brilliant idea, but
What about the G forces involved ?
Can the projector cope with that ?
Slow moving, means high built time, fast moving high G forces.
I an especially concerned about the lamp, that cost about 1/3 of the projector price.
Not shure if the inside mechanics will cope with movement over long time period.

The projector would only need to move in 4 places, based on the projection area, Although the build speed would be longer, this is the tradeoff you have to make if you want bigger build areas. However, if this was done with a laser projection, imagine the build time then having to draw not only the outline of the layer but also fill the layer with a small beam. So again, yes it shall be slower but not slow enough to hang your self. I would say that (just of the top of my head) with the projector making slow movements in 4 places you would be able to get 20 - 30 seconds per layer.

I think that if you move the projector slowly it should be fine.

This is all theory however and this needs to be tested

I like your idea about using the Rasberry Pi.
You say, this new system all in all need to be tested.
I am okay with that, but in the end i would also expect a working printer, according to the agreed specs. within an agreed budget.
Do you feel confident enough to take on the project on those conditions ?
